Sally & Jack

Summer 2023

What could make for a more relaxing day that getting married on the farm that you call home? That's exactly what Sally & Jack did in the summer. We were surrounded by sunflowers and live music right from the beginning of the day, it was certainly set to be a dreamy day! There was a tractor, a wonderful ceremony, beautiful floral displays and a giant disco ball in the tipi. The whole day was brilliant from start to finish watch their full film and read all about their day below.

We got to the farm early in the morning and were greeted by Jack who had just been for a morning swim in the lake just in front of the ceremony area. What a way to start your wedding day! After saying hello we had a walk along to the tipis, past the field of sunflowers and saw the gorgeous set up that we had the pleasure of filming all day! We absolutely loved the feathery floral displays in warm tones. They were a mixture of fresh and dried flowers and looked perfect next to the hay bales. There was a bar and small tipi with sofas to be used a chill out area.

Fittingly, Sally and the bridal party arrived to the ceremony in a beautifully hand-painted trailer pulled by a 70 year old vintage tractor. After a heartfelt and meaningful ceremony, the newly weds made their way back down the aisle as guests threw an amazing amount of confetti in warm colours to match the floral displays. (If you're unsure on how much confetti you need for your big day read our guide here).

Guests took full advantage of *actual* sunshine in the summer of 2023 and stood and chatting outside with gorgeous views of the lake. Sally & Jack created a maze within some maize (sweetcorn crops); a maize maze! The adults loved it just as much as the kids did!

Sally & Jack opted for long tables in the main tipi and kept it functional, but beautiful with planks for sharing platters, burnt orange napkins and sprigs of rosemary. Above the top table there was a spectacular hanging floral display - the perfect focal point for the brilliant speeches we heard. As per the summer that we've had the heavens opened during the speeches, but thankfully the monsoon didn't last very long and by the time the speeches and meal had finished the weather was dry again.

We kept our eyes peeled for some gorgeous light and when we saw it we snook off with Sally & Jack for a stroll as the sun was setting, just the two of them, for some portraits. We had them back in no time to mingle with their guests as dusk was settling in.

Live music played a huge part in the celebrations, right from as guests were taking their seats for the ceremony, at each step of the way the artists performs were perfectly chosen to match what was happening at that moment. The highlight for us was one of the best bands that we've ever seen, Hyde Family Jam. They describe their music as 'folk gone wrong' and they 100% brought the party! We loved them!

There was more food from the marvellous Embers and fireworks to end the night - it was truly a magnificent day, thank you so much Sally & Jack for having us!

It's always good fun to work with James Frost!

Charlotte’s favourite moment from this film: Just as Sally was about to get into her dress she's showing her 100 year old grandmother her hair and makeup - getting her seal of approval. This moment makes my heart sing!

Craig’s favourite moment from this film: When we went for a walk in a nearby field and the sky was absolutely beautiful!
